Who's up and who's down

In this week's postseason power rankings action, one team rose to the occasion while another fell hard. We'll dive into that and more in this week's report.

Can't Touch This

Terry Sanford's 36 - 16 win over Rocky Mount last week had a lot to do with the leadership of sophomore Dorian Clark. Clark rushed for 235 yards and four touchdowns. That performance made Clark one of the best players in the power rankings last week.

No Stoppin 'Em

Southern Nash has been an offensive powerhouse for seven straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. The final score between it and Westover was a 76 - 12 blowout in Southern Nash's favor. Southern Nash's margin of victory (64 points) marked the biggest win the team has had all season. The combined 88 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.

Movin on Up

It was onward and upward for Knightdale this week as the team hoisted itself up nine places in the power rankings -- the largest rise of the week -- after their most recent game. It came out on top in a nail-biter against Overhills, sneaking past 20 - 18. One major factor in the win was the play of senior Kenneth Mccray, who tossed the ball for 157 yards and two TDs.
