Baseball Recap: Hanna Takes a Loss

After flying high against Edinburg North last Thursday, Hanna came back down to earth. Hanna took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the San Benito Greyhounds on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Greyhounds from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Joseph Ruiz was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Hanna has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. San Benito has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Hanna will take on Veterans Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Veterans Memorial will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Hanna surely won't give up without a fight. As for San Benito, they will square off against Los Fresnos at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
