Basketball Recap: Hartsville Comes Up Short

Hartsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a hard 71-56 fall against the South Florence Bruins. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bruins this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 72-61 back in January.

Despite the loss, Hartsville still got an impressive performance from EJ Smith, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 14 points. Another player making a difference was Tristian Spann, who went 5-for-10 en route to 12 points.

Hartsville's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for South Florence, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-10.

Hartsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Florence, they will be playing at home against Hilton Head Island at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hilton Head Island will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something South Florence surely won't give up without a fight.
