Doherty needed a changed in momentum after dropping five straight matches and they got it from Jane Rodriguez. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Coronado Cougars on Saturday with plenty of help from Rodriguez, who had 14 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Doherty's record now sits at 8-14. As for Coronado, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's still a better percentage than their 4-18 record this season.

Doherty wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Discovery Canyon on the 1st. Coronado has also already played their next contest (against Woodland Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
