Basketball Recap: Austin Achieve Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Richard Mutunzi and Cash Silver

Austin Achieve was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 35-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Florence Buffaloes. The Polar Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buffaloes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2020.

Despite the loss, Austin Achieve had strong showings from Cash Silver, who posted 14 points and five boards, and Richard Mutunzi, who had six points and three steals. That was a full 53.8% of Austin Achieve's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rock King, who put up four points.

Austin Achieve's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Florence, their victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Austin Achieve will welcome Smithville at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Florence, they will be playing at home against Lago Vista at 7:30 p.m. on December 17th.
