Baseball Recap: Casteel Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Casteel dropped their record down to 17-8 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (9-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Huskies earlier this season, when they won 9-5.

Casteel saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Russell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Jose Bingochea was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

As for Hamilton, they pushed their record up to 20-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games.

On Hamilton's side, Tyler Nelson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Hamilton let Cole Berge and Nico Linville run wild. Berge got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and three RBI, while Linville went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Berge, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Casteel didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-11 win against Queen Creek on the 28th. Hamilton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
