Volleyball Game Preview: Mt. Carmel Cubs vs. Archbishop Chapelle Chipmunks

Mt. Carmel is a perfect 10-0 against Archbishop Chapelle since October of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cubs will face off against the Chipmunks. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Mt. Carmel is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Benton 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Mt. Carmel took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-14, 25-15.

Mt. Carmel's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Sarah Clement, who had eight digs, four aces, and three blocks, and Ali Offner, who had ten digs. Clement has been hot for a while, having also posted 19 or more assists the last 14 times she's played.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Chapelle was able to grind out a solid win over Byrd on Saturday, taking the game 3-1.

Mt. Carmel better keep an eye on Ava Landry. She was instrumental in Archbishop Chapelle's win, getting 25 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Landry has posted over her last eight contests.

Mt. Carmel's record now sits at 38-5. As for Archbishop Chapelle, their record is now 27-15.

Mt. Carmel was able to grind out a solid victory over Archbishop Chapelle in their previous meeting back in October, winning 3-1. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Chipmunks' Avah Gilchrist, who had 21 digs.
