Soccer Recap: Eureka Comes Up Short

Eureka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 4-0 to the Arcata Tigers. While losing is never fun, Eureka can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Arcata are ranked tenth).

Eureka's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8-3. As for Arcata, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Eureka is set to square off against their familiar foe South Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Arcata will take on rival Del Norte at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
