Basketball Recap: Matoaca Warriors vs. Hopewell Blue Devils
After flying high against Petersburg last Tuesday, Matoaca came back down to earth. The Matoaca Warriors lost to the Hopewell Blue Devils on the road by a 74-55 margin on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-51 back in December of 2024.

Matoaca's loss came despite strong showings from Kailah Carter and Sydney Richardson. Carter went 11 for 18 to rack up 27 points, while Richardson went 5 of 9 en route to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.
