Volleyball Recap: Bartlett Yancey Comes Up Short

If Bartlett Yancey was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Walkertown on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Buccaneers lost 3-0 to the McMichael Phoenix on Wednesday. The Buccaneers have struggled against the Phoenix recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

While Bartlett Yancey was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-12, 25-22.

When it comes to explaining why Bartlett Yancey lost, don't look at Lyndsey Smithers. Despite the final result, she had 13 assists and seven digs. Smithers has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more assists the last four times she's played.

Leading McMichael to victory were Emily Smith and Daisy Pinzon. Smith had 12 digs and two assists, while Pinzon had five digs.

Bartlett Yancey's loss dropped their record down to 16-5. As for McMichael, they pushed their record up to 21-10 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home.
