Basketball Recap: Chris Harris' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Brandon Academy over Donahue Catholic

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Brandon Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 52-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Donahue Catholic Shamrocks on Wednesday.

Several Scorpions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chris Harris, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Harris has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last six times he's played. Rashad Carriera was another key player, putting up five points along with six rebounds and six blocks.

Donahue Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jack Kadlec, who went 6-for-12 en route to 14 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Corban Copeland, who posted 18 points.

Brandon Academy's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Donahue Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Brandon Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Donahue Catholic, they will face off against Seacrest Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Seacrest Country Day is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.1 points per game this season.
