Basketball Game Preview: Bradshaw Mountain Bears vs. Prescott Badgers

Bradshaw Mountain is 8-2 against Prescott since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Bradshaw Mountain Bears will look to defend their home court against the Prescott Badgers at 5:30 p.m. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Bradshaw Mountain turned things around against Arcadia on Saturday. They blew past the Titans, posting a 52-12 win.

Kalli Smith continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 7 of 13 on her way to 16 points along with three steals and three blocks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Johnson, who posted eight points and four steals.

Bradshaw Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Prescott hadn't done well against Coconino recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Everything went Prescott's way against Coconino as Prescott made off with a 66-46 victory. The Badgers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Prescott pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.6 points. As for Bradshaw Mountain, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Bradshaw Mountain might still be hurting after the 48-26 defeat they got from Prescott in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Bradshaw Mountain avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
