Football Game Preview: Bridge City Cardinals vs. Vidor Pirates

The Bridge City Cardinals will head out to challenge the Vidor Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bridge City has four straight wins, Vidor has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Bridge City didn't have too much trouble with Lumberton as they won 40-23.

A big part of Bridge City's victory came down to the chemistry between Hudson Hoffman and his top target Abraham Munguia. Hoffman threw for 327 yards and three TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes while Munguia picked up 229 receiving yards and three scores. Munguia's longest reception was for an incredible 92 yards.

Meanwhile, Vidor scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 60-37 to Little Cypress-Mauriceville.

Bridge City's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Vidor, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Everything came up roses for Bridge City against Vidor when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 49-20 victory. In that contest, the Cardinals amassed a halftime lead of 28-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
