Basketball Game Preview: Kern Valley Broncs vs. Desert Scorpions

The Kern Valley Broncs will take on the Desert Scorpions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Monday, Kern Valley had to suffer through a 55-28 loss at the hands of Templeton. While losing is never fun, the Broncs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1110th, while the Eagles are ranked 474th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Desert, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They walked away with a 55-47 win over Palmdale Academy Charter School on Friday. While the Scorpions didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Desert's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Kern Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
