Duluth East posted their closest win since September 24, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Cloquet Lumberjacks 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Greyhounds, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Duluth East had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 21-25, 25-22, 25-17, 15-5.

Harlow Hartwick paced Duluth East's offense, picking up 22 kills. Hartwick got some help from Chelsea Zentz and her 53 assists. Hartwick also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Evelyn Viney, racking up five apiece.

The victory got Duluth East back to even at 1-1. As for Cloquet, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Duluth East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Centennial on the 29th. As for Cloquet, they will square off against Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
