Soccer Game Preview: Triangle Math & Science vs. Raleigh Charter

The Triangle Math & Science Tigers will face off against the Raleigh Charter Phoenix at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Triangle Math & Science will bounce into Monday's contest after beating Voyager Academy, who they had gone 0-4 against in their four prior meetings. The Tigers blew past the Vikings 7-4 on Wednesday. Abdul Mayegun was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Raleigh Charter entered their tilt with East Wake Academy on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Their defense stepped up to hand the Eagles a 3-0 shutout. Give Raleigh Charter's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

The victory got Triangle Math & Science back to even at 6-6. As for Raleigh Charter, their win bumped their record up to 7-4-1.

Triangle Math & Science suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Raleigh Charter when the teams last played back in August. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Tigers were down 5-1.
