Volleyball Recap: Mayfield Falls Despite Big Games from Isobella Munker and Megan Mcdaniel

Mayfield lost against Centennial back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Trojans fell 3-1 to the Hawks. The loss put an end to the Trojans' undefeated start to the season.

Mayfield started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-16.

Mayfield's loss came despite strong showings from Megan McDaniel and Isobella Munker. McDaniel had 17 assists and three aces, while Munker had 13 assists. McDaniel is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 17 or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mayfield fell to 2-1. As for Centennial, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Mayfield has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against El Dorado on the 30th. As for Centennial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Americas on the 30th.
