Basketball Recap: Wagon Mound Takes a Loss

Wagon Mound played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 82-46 loss at the hands of the Maxwell Bears. The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-26.

Despite the defeat, Wagon Mound had strong showings from Josiah Vasquez, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points, and Eugene Armijo, who posted eight points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Vasquez is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's played. Dominic Jaramillo was another key player, putting up two points and ten rebounds.

Wagon Mound has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Maxwell, their victory bumped their record up to 17-3.

Wagon Mound wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 67-53 loss against Roy/Mosquero on the 6th. As for Maxwell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-48 win against Des Moines on the 4th.
