Volleyball Recap: Hanover's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

After a string of five wins, Hanover's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hingham Harbormen. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Hanover started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-13, 29-27, 25-20.

Tess Madden paced Hanover's offense, picking up 20 kills. Madden got some help from Sadie Chadwick and her 32 assists.

Hanover's loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Hingham, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hanover will challenge rival Plymouth North at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Hingham is set to square off against their familiar foe North Quincy at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
