Soccer Game Preview: Fredericksburg vs. Wimberley

Fredericksburg hasn't had much luck against Wimberley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Fredericksburg Billies will look to defend their home pitch against the Wimberley Texans at 7:00 p.m.

Fredericksburg is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Davenport on Tuesday. They came up short against Wolves, falling 9-1. While losing is never fun, the Billies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Wolves are ranked 43rd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wimberley). They never let Bandera get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Texans have won 14 contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Wimberley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-1-2 record this season. Fredericksburg's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6-3.
