Need we say more?
The winner of Saturday night's showdown will likely advance directly to the Open Division state championship bowl game to be played Dec. 19. It would be the third appearance in four years for Centennial and second in three seasons for St. John Bosco. The Braves won it all in 2013; Centennial was runner-up in 2012 and 2014.
Centennial beat St. John Bosco, 48-41, in last season's Pac-5 final. St. John Bosco beat Centennial, 70-49, in the 2013 Open Division Regional, which no longer exists.
Top-ranked St. John Bosco (13-0) qualified for Saturday's game with a remarkably easy 63-10 win over a Bishop Amat (La Puente) team that was nationally ranked in the preseason. The Braves have outscored opponents by an average of 48 points per game.
Centennial's semifinal game turned out to be a tougher challenge. The Huskies (13-0) nearly coughed up a 26-point third-quarter lead but held on to beat Mater Dei (Santa Ana), 42-36.
