Basketball Game Preview: Destiny Christian Academy Lions vs. Cordova Lancers

The Destiny Christian Academy Lions will challenge the Cordova Lancers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Destiny Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Cordova likes a good challenge.

Destiny Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 87-49 victory over Kennedy. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Cougars are ranked 319th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cordova was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They were outmatched by Antelope and fell 64-21. The matchup marked the Lancers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Destiny Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Cordova, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-20.

Destiny Christian Academy took their win against Cordova when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 74-52. Will Destiny Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Cordova have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
