Baseball Recap: Chaminade Comes Up Short

The Chaminade Flyers didn't have quite enough to beat the Massapequa Chiefs on Monday and fell 9-7. The Flyers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Danny Anicito and Collin Anderson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Anicito went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Anderson went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Chaminade is 3-1 when Anderson posts two or more runs, but 5-9 otherwise. Danny Nawrocki also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Chaminade's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Massapequa, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Chaminade will host St. Mary's at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Flyers are facing the Gaels at the right time seeing as the Gaels are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. Massapequa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
