Baseball Recap: West Rowan Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

West Rowan blew North Iredell out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday North Iredell got their revenge. The West Rowan Falcons fell just short of the North Iredell Raiders by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Falcons have suffered since April 19, 2024.

Gaige Scruggs was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2. He also put up a home run, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Carter Durant, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

West Rowan's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for North Iredell, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Rowan will venture away from home to take on Central Cabarrus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Rowan's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Central Cabarrus' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for North Iredell, they will head out to face off against Hickory at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Iredell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
