Basketball Recap: Hempfield Area Comes Up Short

Hempfield Area suffered their biggest defeat since January 2, 2024 on Friday. They lost 75-50 to the Upper St. Clair Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Panthers are ranked 16th).

Hempfield Area's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Upper St. Clair, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.

Hempfield Area will welcome Norwin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Upper St. Clair, they will take on Mt. Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Upper St. Clair has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
