Baseball Recap: Salem Triumphs

Salem hadn't done well against Lake George recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Generals walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Lakers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Generals.

Stephen Yakubec made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 19 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Luke Yakubec was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Salem now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lake George, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.

Salem has already played their next matchup, a 14-4 loss against Hoosick Falls on the 16th. As for Lake George, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-4 win against Fort Plain on the 15th.
