Basketball Recap: Mentor's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Euclid last Friday, Mentor came back down to earth. The Mentor Cardinals fell to the Riverside Beavers 51-47. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cardinals came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Beavers are ranked 287th).

Mentor's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2. As for Riverside, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mentor will take on Shaker Heights in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mentor is facing Shaker Heights at the right time seeing as Shaker Heights is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Riverside, they will be home for the holidays to greet Geneva at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
