Baseball Game Preview: Clay Blue Devils vs. Bishop Kenny Crusaders

For the second straight game, Clay will face off against Bishop Kenny. The Blue Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clay is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Clay is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Bishop Kenny 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Blue Devils have posted against the Crusaders since April 30, 2015.

Rylan McMahan tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, JC Rosette was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Merrick Rapoza, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Clay's win bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Bishop Kenny, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-20.

Bishop Kenny's pitching crew better be locked in on Tuesday. Clay hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game.
