Ocosta has gone 9-1 against Pe Ell recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Ocosta Wildcats will look to defend their home court against the Pe Ell Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Ocosta is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season.
Ocosta took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Naselle as Ocosta made off with a 71-47 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 23 points or more this season.

Ocosta's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sonny Beard led the charge by dropping a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Beard a new career-high in blocks (three). Dalton Welch was another key player, going 7 of 14 to rack up 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards.
Ocosta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Pe Ell ended up a good deal behind Columbia Adventist Academy on Thursday and lost 64-50. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Kodiaks recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Ocosta will have to contain Jakob Hayes as he made an impact in Pe Ell's last game. He almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds. Hayes has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Mason, who posted nine points and four steals.
Ocosta has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points over those games. As for Pe Ell, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Ocosta has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 39.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Pe Ell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Ocosta strolled past Pe Ell when the teams last played back in January by a score of 66-50. Does Ocosta have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pe Ell turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
