Basketball Recap: Tressie Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Iberia over St. Elizabeth

Iberia lost against St. Elizabeth back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Iberia Rangers fell to the St. Elizabeth Hornets 57-51.

Several Rangers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tressie Brown, who posted 11 points. That's the most points Brown has posted since back in December of 2024. Chloe Edwards was another key player, putting up 13 points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Iberia smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive matches.

Iberia's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for St. Elizabeth, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Iberia has already played their next contest (against Calvary Lutheran), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for St. Elizabeth, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 57-24 win against Prairie Home on the 11th.
