Football Recap: Royse City Starts Season with Victory Against Plano East + How To Watch

Royse City had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They claimed a resounding 48-14 win over the Plano East Panthers. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 55-27 defeat the last time these two teams met.

A big part of Royse City's victory came down to the chemistry between Jamion Richardson and his top target Bryson Amey. Richardson threw for 241 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt while Amey gained 124 total yards and three touchdowns. Those four passing touchdowns gave Richardson a new career-high. A healthy portion of Richardson's aerial production (84 yards to be exact) went to Kemarion Clarke, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Royse City didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Plano East to a completion percentage of just 43.6%. The team can thank John Abrama for the heroic effort on defense: he. Royse City wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 70%.

Royse City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hayden Cook and Abrama. Another thorn in Plano East's side was Chrishon Terry, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Despite the loss, Plano East saw an underclassman step up: freshman Treyce Seldon rushed for 89 yards on only six carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards.
