Baseball Recap: Lakeland Takes a Loss

After flying high against Edison Academy last Wednesday, Lakeland came back down to earth. The Eagles fell just short of the Grand Blanc Bobcats by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2016.

Lakeland has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-3-1 record this season. As for Grand Blanc, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Lakeland will face off against Walled Lake Northern at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Grand Blanc, they will venture away from home to square off against Dow at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
