Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pershing County

Pershing County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Sierra Lutheran Falcons. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 12-1 win on Saturday.

Ayden Montes was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Trenton Rhodes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Pershing County: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-14 otherwise. Jaxson Happy was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Pershing County's victory bumped their record up to 8-16. As for Sierra Lutheran, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-17-1.
