Laurel has gone a perfect 8-0 against Natchez recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Golden Tornadoes will welcome the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Laurel comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

On Friday, Laurel came up short against Brookhaven and fell 14-6.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Natchez). They blew past North Pike 44-14 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now won three in a row.

Laurel better focus on containing Erik Hutchins, Jr and Joshua Barnes as the pair were huge in Natchez's win. Hutchins, Jr punched in three rushing scores, while Barnes rushed for 76 yards and one score. Those 76 rushing yards gave Barnes a new career-high.

One reason for the win was Natchez's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Christian Batteaste, Kamron White, and Devin Ford, who each picked up one sack apiece. Natchez got some further help from Anthony Givens, Jr: he made eight total tackles (1.0 for loss) and snagged two interceptions.

The win got Natchez back to even at 3-3. As for Laurel, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Everything came up roses for Laurel against Natchez when the teams last played back in October of 2022, as the squad secured a 42-12 victory. Will the Golden Tornadoes repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
