Basketball Recap: East Lincoln Piles Up the Points Against North Iredell

On MondayNorth Iredell kept up with East Lincoln until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. The East Lincoln Mustangs claimed a resounding 87-55 victory over the North Iredell Raiders. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Jaxon Dollar, who dropped a triple-double with 26 points, ten rebounds, and 11 assists. He has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Landon Aungst, who made all 6 shots he took for 13 points and four steals.

East Lincoln smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

East Lincoln's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.8 points. As for North Iredell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 17 games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.

Looking ahead, East Lincoln and Hickory will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest, having both just played. Hickory knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully East Lincoln likes a good challenge. North Iredell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
