Baseball Game Preview: Brandon Bulldogs vs. Madison Central Jaguars

For the second straight game, Brandon will face off against Madison Central. The Bulldogs will square off against the Jaguars at 7:07 p.m. on Friday. Brandon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Brandon heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Thursday. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Madison Central. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bulldogs, who until this game were averaging 3.47 runs allowed.

Brandon got a good showing from Cooper Hooks, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Hooks has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jay McQueen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Tre McQueen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Madison Central is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brandon, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 23-13.
