Volleyball Recap: Wakeland Wolverines vs. Argyle Eagles

Wakeland had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Argyle Eagles on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wolverines also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2023.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Wakeland who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 21-25, 25-16, 28-30, 15-12.

Hannah Lee paced Wakeland's offense, picking up 17 kills. Lee got some help from Sarah Pfiffner and her 28 assists. Finally, Abby Parkinson kept Wakeland's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Wakeland is on a roll lately: they've won 24 of their last 25 games, which provided a nice bump to their 34-6 record this season. As for Argyle, with the loss, they broke their 14-game winning streak and moved their record to 39-6.

Wakeland will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Cedar Park at 12:00 p.m. Cedar Park will roll in looking for their 21st straight win, something Wakeland surely won't give up without a fight. Argyle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
