Softball Recap: Mars Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Mars's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Shaler Area Titans on Wednesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Fightin' Planets in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost six in a row.

Paige Lauten was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off ten hits.

Mars' loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Shaler Area, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Mars will square off against Western Beaver at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Fightin' Planets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Beavers have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Shaler Area, they are taking a road trip to challenge Seneca Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
