Baseball Recap: Vanden Comes Up Short

Vanden was the 7-6 winner over Wood when they last played one another last Tuesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-1 on Thursday.

Vanden saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kekoa Grinton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Grinton has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Vanden dropped their record down to 6-14 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Wood, their record now sits at 8-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vanden will head out to face off against Vacaville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wood, they will venture away from home to take on Napa at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats are facing the Grizzlies at the right time seeing as the Grizzlies are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
