Basketball Recap: Castle View Find Success + How To Watch

Castle View was handed a 31-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 57-55 victory over the Riverdale Ridge Ravens. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Sabercats have posted since January 31st.

Loss or not, Riverdale Ridge got some senior leadership from Tyler Barzelatto and Jamari Merritt. Barzelatto went 6-for-12 to rack up 16 points and four steals, while Merritt shot 71% from the field on his way to 11 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barzelatto has scored all season. Luke Wildhagen was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

With the victory, Castle View broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4. As for Riverdale Ridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. After both having extra time off, Castle View and Eaglecrest will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on January 2, 2026. As for Riverdale Ridge, they will square off against Prairie View at 6:30 p.m. on January 8, 2026.
