Football Game Preview: Stevenson Pirates vs. Soledad Aztecs

Stevenson is 0-3 against Soledad since November of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Pirates will square off against the Aztecs at 7:30 p.m. Stevenson will come into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

On Saturday, Stevenson blew past Pacific Grove, posting a 49-7 win. The game marked the Pirates' most dominant victory of the season.

Stevenson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fin Mink, who threw for 378 yards and five touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes. That's the most passing yards Mink has posted since back in October of 2024. Stevenson's leading receiver Caden Olson was Mink's top target yet again, picking up 165 receiving yards and four scores.

Meanwhile, Soledad didn't have too much trouble with Greenfield on Friday as they won 28-14.

Stevenson's record now sits at 7-0. As for Soledad, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-5.

Stevenson was dealt a bruising 35-0 loss at the hands of Soledad in their previous matchup back in November of 2017. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
