Baseball Game Preview: Cushing Bearkats vs. New Summerfield Hornets

The Cushing Bearkats will square off against the New Summerfield Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cushing will be strutting in after a win while New Summerfield will be coming in after a defeat.

While Cushing's victory against Chireno wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Cushing had just enough and edged out Chireno 8-7. The Bearkats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Hunter Gordon was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gatlin Anthony, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Cushing always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, New Summerfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-0 to Troup.

Cushing's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for New Summerfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
