Baseball Game Preview: Oak Park Eagles vs. Hoover Tornados

The Oak Park Eagles will challenge the Hoover Tornados at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Oak Park is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over Hoover on Wednesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Mason Tannous was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Tannous was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Oak Park got a massive performance out of Luke Sater, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those three hits gave Sater a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Henry Rizzotti, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

Oak Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Oak Park's win bumped their record up to 5-10-1. As for Hoover, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
