Softball Recap: Silver Valley Trojans vs. Lucerne Valley Mustangs
Silver Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 20-3 walloping at the hands of the Lucerne Valley Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Silver Valley of the 24-13 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture two weeks ago.
Destiny Ortiz-Leon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double. Havanna Brown was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
On Lucerne Valley's side, the team relied heavily on Cheyenne Watson, who scored four runs and stole ten bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Watson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leanne Watson, who went 2-for-4 with a home run, four stolen bases, and two RBI.
Silver Valley's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Lucerne Valley, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
