Basketball Recap: Choctaw County Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Choctaw County won the last time they faced Nettleton, and Caleb Cunningham did his part to make sure it happened again. The Choctaw County Chargers walked away with a 52-41 win over the Nettleton Tigers on Tuesday thanks in part to Cunningham, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.2 boards per game.

Another player making a difference was Kentavious Baber, who posted six points and eight rebounds. That's the most boards he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Choctaw County's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-12. As for Nettleton, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Choctaw County has already played their next match (against Eupora), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Nettleton is taking a road trip to face off against Tupelo Christian Prep at 9:15 p.m. on Thursday.
