Central Catholic (Modesto, Calif.) snapped
Ripon (Calif.)'s 11-game winning streak, with a 40-21 victory on Saturday.
The Indians pulled ahead on a
Josh McCreath touchdown run, and subsequently went into halftime leading 21-17. The Raiders took the lead for good with a touchdown run by
Rey Vega in the third quarter.
With the win Central Catholic extended its winning streak to eight games. CC defeated the Bruins 63-20 last week.
The Modesto school's standout player in the win was Vega. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 21 touchdowns on the season.
Kyle Wengel played well for Ripon. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns.
RHS came in allowing just 11.6 points per game this season. The Indians struggled against the Raiders' offense, which entered the game scoring 51.6 points per game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Ripon, which notched a 40-0 victory over Amador in its previous outing.
