Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sandburg). They blew past the Plainfield East Bengals 16-2 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Sandburg's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Plainfield East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 16 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-20-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sandburg will welcome Homewood-Flossmoor at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
