Soccer Game Preview: Derryfield vs. White Mountains

The Derryfield Cougars will face off against the White Mountains Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Derryfield will be strutting in after a victory while White Mountains will be coming in after a defeat.

Derryfield's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Inter-Lakes as they made off with a 7-0 win. Derryfield might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, White Mountains has been on a difficult stretch since their win on September 20. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Campbell on Monday. While losing is never fun, White Mountains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Hampshire soccer rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Campbell are ranked eighth).

Derryfield is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those six matches. As for White Mountains, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7-2.
