Basketball Game Preview: Southview Cougars vs. Ross Little Giants

Southview hasn't had much luck against Ross recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Southview Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Ross Little Giants at 7:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Southview faced off against Northview on Monday. Southview came up short against Northview, falling 61-36. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 492nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 44th).

Meanwhile, Ross played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 66-20 loss at the hands of Magnificat. The Little Giants were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-15.

Southview's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Ross, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Southview came up short against Ross in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 36-26. Can Southview avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
