Softball Preview: Kennard-Dale Rams vs. Susquehannock Warriors

The Kennard-Dale Rams will take on the Susquehannock Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a six-game winning streak alive.

On Wednesday, Kennard-Dale was able to grind out a solid victory over Eastern York, taking the game 7-3.

Taryn Ashenfelter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Wetzel was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and nine RBI while going 4-for-5. Those nine RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Macie Minton, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Kara Paternini also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Susquehannock lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
